HBU student-athletes continue to excel both on the field and in the classroom, as 104 Huskies were named to the 2017 Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Academic Honor Roll. Twenty-three Huskies also earned perfect 4.0 GPAs during the Spring semester, led by six from the track and field team (Orlando Garcia, Ana Kriletic, Michelle Linton, Arielle Price, Sarah Tabor and Taylor Thomas). Women's basketball (Heidi Byrd, Britta Daub, Charlotte Hodges, Amanda Johnson and Sophie Taylor) and softball (Cecilia Bauer, Megan Hiers, Demi Janak, Emily Mueller and Nichole Shedd) each had five with perfect GPAs in the Spring. Baseball (Daniel Endsley, Jack Fitzgerald, Joe Van Marter and Weston Wick) had four, women's golf (Kaity Cummings and Charlotte Hartshorn) had two, while men's basketball (Reveal Chukwujeckwu) had one. HBU recorded its highest number of honorees on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, either Fall or Spring, surpassing the 2014 Spring total of 100. The Huskies had 94 Spring honorees in 2015 and 87 last spring. The Southland Conference Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll acknowledges participants in all sports sponsored by the league and its member institutions. The honor roll recognizes student-athletes who maintained a minimum 3.00 GPA. Student-athletes, nominated by their respective academic advisors, must have been eligible to compete in a conference sport during the academic year in which the nomination occurs. www.hbuhuskies.com/news/2017/6/20/baseball-gen-104-huskies-named-to-slc-spring-honor-roll.aspx
